Around 25km from Sawai Madhopur, this irrigation dam is a fascinating site. The dam is on south western periphery of Ranthambhore Park and forms its boundary too. It contains water round the year which is released from irrigation purposes. Plenty of fishing activities with trekking around will be new programs here. An irrigation rest house at the base of embankment is the only facility here.
Enjoy a relaxing morning or afternoon at Surual Lake. Approximately 10kms from Ranthambhore, Surual Lake is the perfect spot for birdwatching. The area is truely peaceful and tranquil, in the midst of nature. Why not make a day of it and take a picnic along? Surual River is a bird-watchers dream and still very much undiscovered by tourists.
The temple is known for its uniqueness. Established in the heart of the city by slicing a hillock, Kala Gaura Bhairav Temple is one of the few temples in the country that practices tantrik kriyas. The uniqueness of this temple lies in the fact that the idols of Bhairav that are generally kept at the entrance in most of the temples across the country are kept inside the temple as the main deity.
Shiwad Temple is known for the Ghushmeshwar Mahadeo temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thousands of people come here to seek blessings of Lord Shiva for prosperity. An imposing fort perched on a small hill is an added attraction of the place.
Amlidhey is the perfect picture of peace and tranquility. This calm, shimmering lake is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing boat ride. Crocodiles can be easily spotted here at Amlideh. As the sun sets and dusk sets in, you are welcome to enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner, while a campfire roars beside.
Ranthambhore has a thriving shopping scene which sells craft items fabricated by local village women. Items for sale include; traditional handmade carpets, Indian clothes, Ranthambhore T-Shirts, gift items and jewellery. A member of our team can escort you for your shopping trip, to ease you of any pushy salesmen or being taken advantage of.
Although Ranthambhore National Park is an amazing experience, Ranthambhore has much more to offer outside of the park gates. Many of these attractions are very much undiscovered by the tourist and are therefore guaranteed to be peaceful, tranquil and exclusive to you.
